Councilor Woes....

To make things perfectly clear I’ll write (actually type) down the most important thing: I CAN’T SPELL! Good so now that that’s out of the way lets continue….

My Grammar majorly sucks too.

Moving on…

When I first started A’levels my mind often conjured up pictures of umm..less subjects, free periods and bunking those periods which weren’t free. Sadly, while Imagination may be the best thing ever it isn’t always correct or true or useful, like the time I Imagined I was flying or like the time I had totally convinced myself that I was adopted or like the time I was sure that my parents had hidden my Hogwarts acceptance letter or like the time….You get the drill, anyways what I hadn’t accounted for was having my own personal stalker!

No kidding!

These people come to school, roam around the school, eat the DELICIOUS and totally AWESOME school fries and get paid. PAID! To stalk!

So this lady knows my birth date, the names of my family members, the grades I got in my last few school results, My extra-curriculars , my attendance, what my teachers think about me, whether I’m submitting homework assignments or not, what grades I’m currently getting and probably even about my birth marks and my dvd collection – the ones even my parents don’t know about! Plus we have to have weekly meetings with this species!

You know the best part? My hoodie has my name at the back!

Don’t get me wrong I love the hoodie but seriously what was I thinking?! Its soooo easy for my councilor or any teacher to spot me an ask me why I didn’t submit some stupid assignment or why even though I’m in school I wasn’t in his/her class and the horror of all horrors: Why am I not in class! (Yes… she has my timetable memorized)

The icing on the cake:

Girl comes up to me and asks: Who’s ur councilor?

Me: MM..she sucks! (all in one breath)

Girl: MM! Oh she’s a family friend!

Shoot me now!

All I can say is Thank God the girl isn’t a snitch or tattle-tale (are they the same thing? I think so.) and is infact pretty cool!

The Wild Wilde

Okay so we have to study Oscar Wilde's Play "The importance of being earnest" in school and I haven't actually read it or bought the play yet but We were supposed to read up on this guy and man! Was he witty!

Its just too bad that he was a Homo, dressed weirdly, was born in another century, and is dead!!

I'm just gonna copy paste some of his quotes here:

Speaking to Andre Gide in Algiers, 1895: "I have put my genius into my life. I have put only my talent into my work."

"Nothing succeeds like excess."

Going through customs on entering New York City: "I have nothing to declare except my genius."

"Experience is the name everyone gives to his mistakes."

"A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it."

"All women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy. No man does. That's his."

"One's real life is often the life that one does not lead."

"One can always be kind to people about whom one cares nothing."

"No man is rich enough to buy back his past."

"The basis of optimism is sheer terror."

"When the gods wish to punish us, they answer our prayers."

"It is only shallow people who do not judge by appearances."

"Arguments are to be avoided; they are always vulgar and often convincing."

"Scandal is gossip made tedious by morality."

"Men always want to be a woman's first love; women like to be a man's last romance."

"Children begin by loving their parents. After a time they judge them. Rarely, if ever, do they forgive them."

"The difference between journalism and literature is that journalism is unreadable and literature is not read."

"The worst form of tyranny the world has ever known: the tyranny of the weak over the strong. It is the only tyranny that lasts."

"Everyone is born a king, and most people die in exile."

"Simple pleasures-are the last refuge of the complex."

"In this world there are only two tragedies. One is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it."

"What is a cynic? A man who knows the price of everything, and the value of nothing."

"The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it."

"Being natural is simply a pose."

"Ambition is the last refuge of the failure."

"Life is far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about."

"The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast."

"Duty is what one expects from others."

"Frank Harris has been invited to all the great houses in England-once."

"Henry James writes fiction as if it were a painful duty."

"He doesn't act on the stage-he behaves."

"I like men who have a future and women who have a past."

"By persistently remaining single, a man converts himself into a permanent public temptation."

"He hasn't a single redeeming vice."

"I must decline your invitation owing to a subsequent engagement."

"She who hesitates is won."

"In America, the young are always ready to give to those who are older than themselves the full benefits of their inexperience."

"There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."

Taking champagne on his deathbed: "I am dying beyond my means."

Man can believe the impossible, but can never believe the improbable

man can't be too careful in the choice of his enemies.

This will probably be the shortest blog ever!
Remember the girl from my Literature class? Well..she doesn't sparkle in the sun :(

Copy and Paste (Caution: Its real, Its raw and its SERIOUS)

You know there was this whole "25 random things about me" Thing going on on Facebook?

Keep in mind that this is like a YEAR old so yeah..

1.I AM a human, contrary to what people may think
People still don't believe so I'm going to keep this one

2. H.U.G.E fan of Disney
Its a little less than H.U.G.E now

3.Love reading and writing
I don't read as much as I used to but this is more due to the fact that I don't have as much time as I used to. I still love writing (this sorta blogging thing counts right?) but I have a long way to go before I'm anywhere near good.

4.Sometimes I come off as completely stupid and sometimes just to annoy my friends I act like a brainiac even though I am not
Honestly I just tend to act weird which is basically very sad

5. It really bothers me that out of my two closest friends one can't be bothered to use the internet (she doesn't even have an ID) and the other comes on like once in 6 months
A. I have a lot more best friends now :)
B. She finally made an ID, Using Facebook however is another story
C.The one with the ID claims to come online on fb everyday (Don't look at me like that! I didn't ask her to) though she never sees her home page (yeah no newsfeed or livefeed and the rest. She survives without stalking), She doesn't check her notifications or inbox. Actually the only thing she does see are the first couple of items on her own profile

6.Can't live without music

How can anyone NOT love them?

8.Addicted to facebook

I have matured now and have finally realized it was my inner longing to study those subjects (Temporarily forgetting the fact that I didn't study them) and the Eenie Meanie Minni Mow just dealt the hands of fate or something like that. Honestly, WHO cares? I'm DONE with O'levels!

No More Resolutions!

If I'm being completely honest with myself then I know that I MUST have learned something in the whole uear but unfortunately I can't think of anything. People HAVE to learn something right? Its like the Freakin LAW!

I guess I can say that I did keep up my resolutions _ because I totally did.I KNOW I did! I BELIEVE I did! I HOPE I did!

Aruba's Resolutions for the year 2009 and whats become of them now

1.Be nicer to everyone:
Ok so this is one resolution I didn't keep. But I really tried (Ignoring the fact that I just made my little cousin cry cause he looks funny when he cries)

2.Stop making sarcastic comments on everything: Seriously? I can't even believe that I bothered making that one! What was I thinking?! Can a fish live without water? Can humans survive without oxygen? (Stress on humans! WE are not talking about Vampires people!Though this girl in my literature class could totally pass for a vampire.Seriously! She's so totally pale and I have never seen her eat anything! Maybe she drinks blood! That would be so bloody awesome! Not that I'm a big fan of vampires or anything but still it would be totally cool!) Anyways You do the Math!

3.Stop blurting out stuff without thinking: Yeah that didn't go so well for me. I gave that one up in the very first month. The process of thinking before speaking does not work out for me.It requires using my brain and even I have admitted that its really hard for me

4.Stop biting my nails: Just looked at my nails. Already bitten into next month. Case closed!
(I just remembered that the girl from my literature class, I have seen her eating cake on somebody's birthday. There goes my Vampire theory. :( Unless she was just forcing it down like Edward does with the pizza or something! Theory back on!)

5.Stop babbling about completely random useless stuff: No can do. Sorry. People have to learn to live with it!

6.Actually do homework and study for tests and exams: I'm getting 'F's. Does that answer your question. I can't do homework! I'm not genetically made that way. Studies and homework REPEL me! whatever that is.

7.Stop eating so much: I couldn't stand in the way of true love!

So much for Resolutions!

The New Year

Its the First of Jan today, 2010 is officially here!!
So at the stroke of midnight I religiously sms'ed everybody with the traditional "Happy New Year" greeting and then my smart ass friends asked me what was so happy about it.
So I know that we have been having the worst year ever. "WE" being my country Pakistan and believe if you don't know what Pakistan is then you HAVE been living under a rock my friend. Switch on any news channel its bound to be mentioned sooner or later and not in the best of contexts either.
Anyways moving back to the topic at hand
According to my friends the new year comes every year, (well..DUH! Its the new YEAR isn't it?) and its just a change of date which doesn't signify anything so why all the greetings and celebration?
Me being the eternal optimistic (not really I was just having a good 15 minutes) said stuff about the hope and positive thinking that new beginnings bring (I know Blekh but it was the best I could come up with at that moment) Saying it a couple of times actually made me convince myself...that is sadly an evidence of how gullible I am.
People like change yet they're usually scared of them. U know the whole Fear of the unknown theory? The New Year signifies change yet you don't have to change anything for it. Perfect solution right? Of Forget it! Spouting Philosophical stuff is so not my thing!
Something as lousy as a date isn't supposed to tell you when you start over and when you can't! It totally depends on you right?
Damn! I really need a life if I'm discussing the new year!
